Flood Risk Assessment

We specialise in PPS 25 and TAN15 Flood Risk Assessments and all aspects of drainage design. We have been successful in gaining approval for many sites with advice on flood mitigation measures, sustainable drainage system, flood resistance and flood resilience. Where new development is exceptionally necessary in flood risk areas we can make it safe.

Civil engineers Ltd specialist division comprising of water engineers are qualified and experienced hydrologist and hydraulic modellers. This division provides specialist services in the field of Flood Risk, Hydrology, River and Coastal modelling and drainage design.

Through our knowledge of planning guidance, combined with our standing amongst our clients and regulatory authorities for technical excellence, we have a reputation for unlocking difficult sites within the perceived floodplain previously regarded as undevelopable.

Our flood risk assessment report, typically, contains the followings:-
01- The size of the proposed development
02- The Flood Zone of the proposed, i.e. zone 1, 2 or 3. Zone 1 is low risk
03- Flood vulnerability of the proposed development; table D2 of Planning Policy Statement 25.
04- Likelihood of flooding from rivers and sea in the proposed area, using the Flood Map
05- Predicted risk of flooding in the proposed area from rivers and sea
06- Risk of flooding; taking the climate change into account
07- Any risk of other sources of flooding
08- Chance of flooding in the area - low, moderate or significant
09- The possible damage a flood could do to the proposed development
10- Minimum ground level Above Ordnance Datum (AOD)
11- Maximum flood level AOD
12- The finish floor level above maximum flood level

Cost of a Flood risk assessment:
This depends on the nature of a development and the extent of our involvement.
However, we try to be very competitive. Typical flood risk assessment fees start from £450 + disbursement charges if any.
